Older houses,
put right.
Home Restoration & Remodeling in Raleigh, NC
Raleigh is in our name and next door to our base in Cary. A lot of what Raleigh houses need comes before the finishes — storm and water damage, structural repair, crawlspaces and old renovations undone — and that is the work we are built around.
What we do in Raleigh.
The full range of our work, ordered the way Raleigh homes tend to need it: restoration and structure first, then remodels and additions.
Older houses, mature trees.
Raleigh’s housing is older, on average, than the newer towns to the south of it, and older houses need a different kind of contractor. The finishes are rarely the hard part. What decides the job is what is behind them: framing, crawlspaces, old leaks and the renovations that came before.
That is why restoration and structural repair lead this page, and why a remodel here so often starts with putting something right before anything new goes in.
The City of Oaks earns its name, and mature trees over older roofs are where storm damage tends to start. When one comes down, the repair is construction — framing, roofing and the envelope, then the interior — not just a patch.
Underneath, many older Raleigh houses sit on vented crawlspaces that have spent decades of humid summers taking on moisture.
The rules depend on the street.
Where a property sits decides which office its permits go through: inside Raleigh’s city limits, or in unincorporated Wake County. We confirm the jurisdiction first and prepare what the project requires, rather than assuming.
Raleigh’s historic overlay districts — Oakwood and Boylan Heights among them — add a step. Exterior changes there, from windows and siding to additions, need a Certificate of Appropriateness from the Raleigh Historic Development Commission before work begins, on top of any other permits.
If your house is in one, we build that approval into the plan from the start.
The work behind the finishes.
Structure is the part of a project that decides whether it lasts, and it is the part we document most carefully: a house taken back to sound framing after a tree came through it, and a load-bearing wall opened with shoring in place.
We do not publish where our clients live. Our project record shows the work itself, start to finish.
Working in Raleigh.
Yes. We are based next door in Cary and take projects across Raleigh regularly — restoration, structural repair, crawlspaces, remodels, additions, decks and concrete.
Yes. We document the damage, put the repair scope in writing, take the house back to sound structure and rebuild it, and can meet your adjuster on site. The claim itself stays between you and your insurer.
Yes, with the approvals in place first. In Raleigh's historic overlay districts — Oakwood and Boylan Heights among them — exterior changes need a Certificate of Appropriateness from the Raleigh Historic Development Commission before work begins. We confirm what applies to your property before the work is scoped.
We prepare and coordinate what the project requires. Which office that goes through depends on where the property is — inside Raleigh's city limits or in unincorporated Wake County — so we confirm the jurisdiction first rather than assuming.
Older houses are a large part of what we do. They tend to need the work that comes before the finishes — structural repair, crawlspace moisture, old leaks, and previous renovations that have to be undone before anything new goes in.
